Island Park, NY — On April 30, 1983, Madonna performed at Network Video & Dancing, a short-lived venue at 2000 Long Beach Road in Island Park, to promote her current singles and her upcoming debut album.
In 1985, The “Madonna” Line was launched under license by EMMC and produced by Wazoo Fashions. It was featured in the November 1985 issue of Bop magazine, which devoted several pages to the new collection. According to the article, Bop’s editors, photographers, and the designers of the line spent an entire day photographing the outfits, which were available in major department stores at the time.
In 1985, Maripol Designs Inc., under the brand Rubberama, released the officially licensed Maripol for Madonna jewelry line. The packaging carried both names, directly linking the collection to Maripol’s design company and brand identity.
