Bloodhounds of Broadway was filmed in 1988 and starred Madonna alongside Matt Dillon and Jennifer Grey. Although completed that year, the film wasn’t released until 1989.

Tragically, its director, Howard Brookner, never lived to see his own work reach audiences. The movie, based on stories by Damon Runyon, marked Brookner’s first and only major studio feature, adding a poignant note to his brief but promising career.
