Madonna kicked off her first night at the Sportpaleis during her Celebration Tour last night. Unfortunately the organisation left a lot to be desired. Many fans with pre-sale fanclub tickets (through ICON) had issues when their tickets were scanned and were redirected to many different entrances, causing for a lot of chaos.
Many fans that had purchased Golden Circle tickets (Sectie A) were then denied entry to that specific part of the floor as it was deemed ‘too ful’ by the security. Despite having bought a (more expensive) ticket to be in that exact spot, they were still denied entry and escorted off to the side with a very restricted view. This left a lot of fans infuriated with the organisation.
Madonna started the show around 21.40 and seemed to be in really good spirits, giving it her all. She spoke about her hospitalization and waking up after five days from her induced coma, being thankful to be given another chance at life and thinking of her mother never having had that luxury. Madonna was very emotional but put on a spectacular and flawless performance. Damien Jalet (choreographer) was the co-judge during “Vogue”. There was a slight technical glitch at the start of “Bitch I’m Madonna” as the platform did not rise completely at first.
