We are deeply saddened to learn that legendary producer, composer and musician William Orbit has passed away at the age of 69. His family and friends announced today that he peacefully passed away at home on July 23.
For Madonna fans, William Orbit will forever be remembered as the creative force behind the groundbreaking Ray of Light album, helping shape one of the most celebrated and influential records in pop music history. Together, they also collaborated on Music, MDNA, and iconic songs such as Beautiful Stranger and American Pie.
Beyond Madonna, Orbit’s visionary production work left an indelible mark on artists including Blur, All Saints, U2, Pink and many more. His innovative sound changed the landscape of pop and electronic music, inspiring generations of musicians and producers.
