It may be too early to declare, but we’ll declare it anyway: Madonna’s Confessions II is going to be the album of the summer.

The highly anticipated record, releasing on July 3, is a true return to form for the Queen of Pop, who will be debuting new dance floor anthems that she perfected on 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor. The two lead singles, “I Feel So Free” and “Bring Your Love,” already have us buzzing with glee—as does the short film that Madonna premiered earlier this week at the Tribeca Film Festival, which is directed by Torso and previews the first six songs off the album. (”Danceteria,” for one, is a certified bop.)

“She’s been on the dance floor this whole time: The dance floor is where her heart beats, and where everything happens.”
Even better than all of the new tracks and visuals? The glamorous fashions that Her Madge-esty has been serving up along with it. Madonna has been working with longtime stylist Rita Melssen to cultivate her Confessions II wardrobe, and the main inspiration for her club-ready attire is—unsurprisingly—the queen herself. The stylist dug into Madonna’s own personal archives, bringing back iconic pieces from the past and combining them with new custom garments. “The idea was to create a woman who just never stopped dancing,” says Melssen. “She’s been on the dance floor this whole time: The dance floor is where her heart beats, and where everything happens.”
