Madonna Songbook by Giulio Mazzoleni is without doubt the heaviest Madonna book to date. Giulio has dedicated years working on this project.
He interviewed many collaborators including Stephen Bray, Rick Nowels and Marius de Vries. Giulio traveled to the Library of Congress in Washington and listened to various demo tapes submitted there and learned so much. He has also worked with Madonna herself during the Interscope years in Italy. The book is illustrated with countless images including promo adverts, posters, vinyl records and exclusive photographs. The images are all crystal clear and are a joy to look at.
This is not a book that you read quickly, don’t forget that Madonna wrote and recorded songs long before her breakthrough, everything Giulio could find out about is discussed in this book. So you not only read about all the album tracks, but also the demo’s, the collaborations and the material that was never released. It doesn’t get more complete than this. An ultimate reference work for the Madonna fan and anyone who wants to learn something about her complete discography. Fans also have their say and tell which song is extra special and why. Moreover, the stories behind the songs told by various collaborators are a pleasure to read. Even if you know so much about Madonna’s discography, you will gain even more knowledge after reading this book.
Last but not least, we are happy to have been a contributor to this book! You can order Madonna Songbook HERE or inquire at your local retailer.
