A new exhibit on NYC’s early-’80s music scene just opened at the Museum of the City of New York, and among the items is the flyer for your 1982 Danceteria show where Madonna opened for you. What do you remember about that night?
MM: Things I remember about that night:
- Who is this Madonna who is paying to get on our gig?
- She looked and sounded like she was going to be big. When I say big, I mean get played on WBLS and not worldwide massive.
- It was our end of tour party
- There was a buffet upstairs
- John Lydon was there
- We played 2 nights
- I loved The Danceteria
