A celebrity cameo in a music video is a trick as old as music video itself, but in Madonna’s latest clip for “Bitch, I’m Madonna,” the New Yorker virtually empties her contacts list in one go.
The video premiered on tidal.com on Wednesday (but is now available for everyone to see on YouTube), and the Jonas Akerlund-directed piece is immediately notable for appearances by Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, who also provides a guest rap.
But while these A-list pop stars might add glamour, their phoned-in contributions are massively underwhelming. Look closely, however and you’ll see that “Bitch, I’m Madonna” has plenty of other highlights far more worthy of the limelight. Blink and you’ll miss them — so here’s what to look out for:
