Amazon has released its summer 2017 report showing differences in how customers from different regions spend their money.
It says Geordies went mad for Madonna’s compilation DVD The Immaculate Collection.
The giant retailer says: “Madonna was in vogue with customers in Newcastle as they got into the groove and snapped up copies of the material girl’s greatest hits DVD compilation.”
It also recorded how Galaxy Smooth is the country’s most favourite chocolate while here in the North East we prefer good old-fashioned Kit Kats.
Amazon use the data from customer’s orders not just to work out the most popular purchases but also to help steer retail trends in the future.
We can expect to use Amazon more to buy fresh fruit and veg while more small and medium sized businesses, including those in the North East, are exporting their products through Amazon Marketplace.
