I bought my tickets officially through her when I got the text message with a fan club pre-sale code that needed to be used within 60 minutes. Of course, I was super excited and didn’t believe it had actually happened since getting her tickets has been so difficult over the past few years. I was able to get second-row seats toward the right side of the stage. I didn’t realize how small the theater was or how close I would be.

The only thing I wish I had been able to do was record. Inside, we were asked to put our phones in a Yondr sleeve after turning them off. It was supposed to start at 8 o’clock, but then she moved it to 9 o’clock. She actually went on at about 10 o’clock.

She looked incredible. She had on a very light blue crystal dress with matching pumps, a big white fur coat, and sunglasses. Her hair was pin-straight. When it started, she came into the audience and sat in the fifth row, where the entire row was reserved for her family. Her boyfriend, Lola, David, Mercy, Debi, Jonas A., etc., were all there.

From my angle, the first time they played the video—I mean film, because she does not like it to be called a video since “video” sounds cheap—I was just looking at her the whole time instead of watching the film.

Then Anderson Cooper, the two directors, and she came out and spoke about the film. Anderson spoke for a long time, so the directors didn’t get to say much. It was mainly her and Anderson Cooper talking.

She said she is definitely working on her biopic and will maybe be going on tour. The other thing that stood out was that she said she will make some surprise appearances before the album comes out. She also spoke about her Times Square appearance the night before and how she had no chance to do a sound check. However, she felt really great about it because it was a full-circle moment for her, and she said she actually felt like she had made it.

After the interview was over, they played the film again.

We watched a 10-minute film, which was incredible. It’s really intense and super powerful, and you can tell how much money was spent on it. There are different scenarios, and you hear different songs from the album. It’s also a bit of a timeline of her life.
