The Village Voice edition of October 8–13, 1981 featured what is likely one of the earliest—and possibly the very first—advertisements promoting Madonna’s debut New York City appearance.
At the time, she was managed by Camille Barbone and signed to Gotham Records through Barbone’s guidance, well before her later deal with Sire Records. This rare advert has now been added to The First Album page under “Adverts.”
