It has been fifteen years since Madonna kicked off her fantastic Drowned World Tour in Barcelona in 2001. Even though the tour was originally planned to premiere in Cologne Germany, due to technical issues the premiere was postponed to Barcelona and sadly Cologne was cancelled.

Expectations were high as it hadn’t been since 1993 that Madonna embarked on her last world tour ‘The Girlie Show’, she far exceeded those expectations. The reviews were outstanding and it was so overwhelming for the fans to finally see her doing what she does best on stage. The Drowned World Tour was a very dark but intimate show, her most theatrical to date and far ahead of its time. Even though she mostly played songs off Ray Of Light and Music, the show was so spectacular that it was like witnessing true storytelling on stage (that geisha section was far beyond anything she’s ever done before).
