Waarschijnlijk werken we hem begin april samen af.”

DE MORGEN

Translation:

Eurosong-jury member Jef Martens declined the request to write songs for Madonna. Due to his work with Mika at the moment, he does not have the time.

Martens was sent the request to write songs for Madonna. “I work regularly with Interscope, her record label”, he explains to De Standaard. “That is why I was asked. But with a project such as that, multiple writers are brought together in studio’s in Los Angeles; there are no guarantees of the destination of the songs and whether or not you will be working with Madonna or not.”

That is why Martens declined, he has current projects with Mika and Natasha Bedingfield.

MIA asks Madonna for money as NFL sues her for $16m

2013MIA02ST051213

MIA has asked Madonna for financial help after the NFL demanded she pay them $16.6m (£9.1m) in compensation for showing her middle finger during the 2012 Super Bowl half-time show.

It has been confirmed that the NFL have stepped up their legal action against MIA with the American Arbitration Association on Friday (March 14). The Hollywood Reporter states that the NFL are demanding $15.1m in “restitution” on top of the $1.5m (£900,000) they were already chasing for breach of contract.

The NFL claims that the additional $15m covers “the alleged value of public exposure she received by appearing for an approximately two minute segment during Madonna’s performance,” stating that, “The figure is based on what advertisers would have paid for ads during this time.”

In response, MIA’s spokesperson has said that the claim, “lacks any basis in law, fact, or logic.” Adding that the “continued pursuit of this proceeding is transparently an exercise by the NFL intended solely to bully and make an example of Respondents for daring to challenge NFL.”

The statement also refers to various other explicit moments from previous Super Bowl performances as well as a recent fine issued to a player found to have used racially aggressive language on the field.

Tweeting about the story earlier today (March 17), MIA sent a message to Madonna which reads: “ummm ….. can i borrow 16 million ?”

The good old days of ticket queuing

Remember the good old days of queuing for Madonna concert tickets? Things have changed drastically in the past few years.

In the ‘good ol’ days’ spending a night outside in front of the postoffice was a regular thing to do, as you knew if you were first in line, you had the best chance to get the best seats in the house.

The craziest ticket sale I have ever experienced was for the Re-Invention Tour in 2004 in Arnhem. After spending a night outside and getting the first tickets, we went home without knowing a second date would be added. When we found out we rushed back but it was sold out. Thankfully we got to take tickets that weren’t picked up, however when the lady arrived and she found out we had her tickets she slapped my boyfriend.

The pictures below were taken for the Confessions Tour ticket sales. We spent an entire night in front of a postoffice in Purmerend, a man that was drunk kept on harassing us throughout the night so we had the call the police.

Thankfully in the morning we got our tickets, and this time we waited for the second date announcement. After getting our tickets we went to visit the record fair in Utrecht, needless to say we were extremely tired!

But Madonna has always been MORE than worth it!DSC01688 Madonna Ticket 03-09-2006 madonnaoptreden Voorverkoop 08-04-2006

Madonna Dresses Up in ‘Game of Thrones’ Costume for Jewish Holiday

Madonna has uploaded a photo of her wearing a costume of Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons from popular fantasy series “Game of Thrones”. The 55-year-old singer wore the costume to celebrate Jewish holiday Purim. “Happy Purim!!!!! All Hail All Queens! ##certainty,” she wrote on Saturday, March 15.

In the snap, Madonna can be seen sporting a platinum blond wig and small dragon figurines on her shoulders. She also wears some bangles to channel the character from HBO series, which is played by Emilia Clarke.

Purim is a day to commemorate Jewish community’s escape from destruction during the ancient Persian Empire. Madonna was raised a Roman Catholic, but she converted into Kabbalah in the 1990s. Her Hebrew name is Esther.

The Material Girl was spotted at the Kabbalah Centre in New York on Saturday. She wore all-black outfit, a beanie and a scarf as she exited a car. The singer had no make-up on during the outing.

A few days ago, Madonna shared a photo of her seductively licking a glass shower door. The photo shows her wearing make up and a beautiful head piece. “Still cleaning house! A Woman’s work is never done! I should have worn a wife beater. But i like getting dressed up! #bowdownb****es,” she said of the house chore.

By Gavin Edwards
March 15, 2014 11:30 AM ET

The March 23rd, 1989, edition of Rolling Stone (issue Number 548) was a college-themed issue that featured articles on turmoil at Gallaudet University and physics professors studying baseball. (Not to mention El Salvador politics, AIDS, and the Master Musicians of Joujouka.) Ten other highlights:

30 Years Ago in Rolling Stone: Rise of the Police, End of the Clash

1. Madonna smells Prince
In Bill Zehme’s cover story on Madonna, she discusses Catholicism, her split from Sean Penn, her endorsement deal with Pepsi (her “Like a Prayer” video would end up scotching that), and a certain genius from Minneapolis. (Read the full story here.) “Ever since I’ve known Prince, I’ve attached a smell to him, which is lavender,” Madonna said. “He reeks of it.”
