Madonna’s tears for her son – before pashing Kiwi fan

newzealand8

Well, that was strange.

One minute, Madonna was crying over her son, to whom she had just dedicated an acoustic version of La Vie en Rose.

Next minute, she’s performing a sex act on a banana and pashing a Kiwi girl called Shaki (“…like Shakira without the ‘a’…”). Before promptly falling over.

She also ordered a security guard (called Shane) on stage for reasons that remain unclear, other than to ask him if he was aroused by her and Shaki’s banana antics.

The final 10 minutes of Madonna’s first-ever New Zealand performance were some of the most bizarre ever to grace Vector Arena’s stage.

Honestly, I’m still not sure what I witnessed. But it could well have been Her Madgesty at her bonkers best.

Madonna doesn’t disappoint as pop icon hits the stage at Auckland’s Vector Arena

Madonna does not disappoint.

Everything you heard, everything you’ve seen, everything you never expected and everything you did – it’s all here.

After waiting two hours for the pop queen to appear, a rowdy Vector Crowd was getting impatient, but she took the stage at full power and literally never stopped.

It kicked off with iconic Madge descending over the stage in a metal cage surrounded by religious iconography.

If you think this is why the religious groups are upset, this isn’t even the half of it.

Madge moved into B*** I’m Madonna, riling up the younger crowd members and then stripped off shouting “let’s make it hot in here let’s take off all our clothes” before donning a guitar and shredding through Burning Up.

Holy Water was where Madonna’s controversial tour really shines through – half naked nuns, pole dancing, grinding, lingerie, priests, last-supper imagery. The whole nine yards.

She’s legit at having a go at every religion there is, but the thing is at a certain point it all just becomes just like Miley Cyrus sticking her tongue out and twerking on Robin Thicke. The pole dancing was provocative and sexy, the rest was just unnecessary.

Monitoring Madonna – the sound of the Rebel Heart Tour

Madonna began the third leg of her highly successful globetrotting Rebel Heart Tour in Mexico City on January 6 with a scheduled conclusion on March 20 in Sydney, Australia. Alongside Madonna, stage personnel comprise four musicians, two backing vocalists and 20 dancers. The Rebel Heart Tour has been traveling with a pair of DiGiCo SD7 consoles operated by front-of-house engineer Andy Meyer and monitor engineers Matt Napier and Sean Spuehler. Meyer and Napier are both using SD7s with Napier’s console featuring an EX007 fader expansion.

“Madonna likes her live sound to be as close as possible to the album,” says Napier. “To accomplish this, Sean focuses on mixing her vocal effects and delays, which are then bused to the FOH console so—in theory, at least—the audience hears exactly the same vocal sound that she does. She spends a large proportion of the show 110 feet in front of the P.A. As she gets further into the P.A., the sound of the spill through her vocal mic means what she needs to hear in terms of pitch and timing constantly changes. It’s the first time I’ve run a show using timecode, which I’ve done partly to mitigate this. Having multiple snapshots per song, all fired automatically via timecode, has freed me to concentrate on the aspects of the mix that I need to adjust in compensating for the effect of her moving along the catwalk. The timecode has also been really useful when we have the occasional—inevitable—problem, because it allows me to focus on that and not worry so much about missing a cue.”

Madonna Announces Intimate Music, Art and Comedy Club Show for Australian Fans

Madonna has dodged Australia for way too long. So she’s giving a special present to those long-suffering superfans when herRebel Heart trek works its way across Australia and New Zealand.

The Queen of Pop has added an exclusive fan show to her tour of Australasia, which kicks off Saturday night (March 5) at Auckland’s Vector Arena and now grows to 10 dates. Madonna’s so-called Tears of a Clown show will take place next Thursday (March 10) at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and is billed as a fusion of music, art and comedy. Quite how the comedy element of the performance will play out is anyone’s guess.

The intimate gig will now serve as a warm-up for Madonna’s Australian arena tour, which is scheduled to start March 12 at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and wind-up March 20 at Sydney’s Allphones Arena.

Tickets will be made available to Icon fan club winners. Details on how to enter will be announced at Madonna.com and via the Telstra’s “Thanks” promotion Webpage.

Madonna announces secret show in Melbourne next week ahead of her first Australian tour since 1993

MADONNA has announced an intimate club show — featuring her unexpected stand-up comedy work as well as music — in Melbourne next week.

The superstar will play the Forum next Thursday March 10.

The venue holds only 1500 people, tiny by Madonna’s standards.

The club show, Tears of a Clown is an exclusive free fan show that will fuse “music, art and comedy”.

Madonna said in a statement “I wanted to do something special for Australia because you have been so patient and waited so long. The Tears of a Clown show will make its debut on March 10. Performance art, comedy, story telling and music of course! Especially for my Rebel Heart fans down under!”

The free tickets will only be available through Madonna’s fan club but if you’re rushing to join, bad luck, entrants have to have been members before March 1 this year.

You have to be over 18 and post a photo of yourself excited about Madonna’s return to Australia for the first time in 23 years on your social media accounts.

More details are at madonna.com

Tour partner Telstra are also offering free tickets to customers at telstra.com/music.

Madonna had teased Australian fans by stating on stage in Macau last month that she would do a secret show down under. She also joked it might be a stand up comedy show she’d called Tears of a Clown. It turns out she was not joking about the joking.

Madonna performed a stand up routine on Jimmy Fallon’s US talk show last year, with mixed reactions.

The singer has hinted at several club shows during the Rebel Heart world tour, but none have happened yet.

Fans are also hoping one of the Australian shows may be filmed for DVD release — she filmed her Sydney shows on 1993’s The Girlie Show for, at the time, a VHS release.

Madonna plays her first ever shows in New Zealand tomorrow and Sunday.

She will play Rod Laver Arena on March 12 and 13. Madonna then plays Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 16 and 17 before winding up her Australian visit — and the entire Rebel Heart world tour — with shows at Sydney’s Allphones Arena on March 19 and 20.

Madonna’s Rebel Heart tour has received rave reviews around the world and has already grossed over $100 million.

The tour obviously features much of last year’s No. 1 album Rebel Heart as well as Madonna classics including Material Girl, Burning Up, Deeper and Deeper, True Blue, Like a Virgin, Dress You Up, Into the Groove, Lucky Star, Music and Holiday.

Meanwhile Madonna fans are now wondering if the singer will get any local celebrities on stage during new song Unapologetic Bitch.

Overseas the likes of Amy Schumer, Idris Elba, Graham Norton, Stella McCartney and Katy Perry have been spanked by Madonna on stage during the song.

With Kylie Minogue in Australia this week for a corporate show, fans are hoping the Australian singer may be around long enough to finally share a stage with Madonna.

Speaking to News Corp last year, Madonna had a few options.

“Is Kylie gonna be there? If she’s in Australia at one of my shows she’d be great. Or Molly Meldrum. He’d be good. He definitely deserves a spanking.”

Meldrum was Madonna’s first champion in the international media, playing 1983’sBurning Up video on Countdown when the singer was still unknown. The song eventually reached No. 13 in Australia, its highest chart position anywhere in the world.

Countdown also heavily promoted 1984’s Holiday, with the song becoming a Top 5 hit in Australia before anywhere else in the world.

Meldrum and Madonna have remained friends since then, with their first meeting re-enacted in the Molly miniseries last month, with Madonna played by Jactina Stapleton.
