Madonna Braves The Cold Of New York On Crutches

Moving slow, but still managing to get around town, Madonna set out today (January 17), aided by a pair of crutches in New York City.

The 55-year-old songstress took on the snow of the Big Apple in a long black winter coat with a fur coat, black snow pants and a pair of regular running shoes

The “Like a Virgin” singer injured her leg after suffering a fall while on vacation in Switzerland over the holidays, and hopefully she will be up-and-at-em soon!

We hope that Madonna’s leg injury will not also detract from her singing career, as she is set to continue writing and performing the soundtrack of family reality series “Dancing on Ice,” which continues throughout this winter season.

Timor Steffens explains his relationship with Madonna on RTL Late Night

Timor Steffens was a guest in RTL Late Night tonight and explained to host Humberto Tan, his relationship with Madonna.

“I met Madonna in New York during the SecretProjectRevolution launch where we worked together and became friends, I also became friends with her children”, “I was invited to go on a skiing trip with them in Gstaad, and attended the afterparty by Valentino with them, we have become really good friends as we share the same interests.”

The so called ‘romantic dinner’ in Rotterdam was nothing but a dinner shared as friends. “We’re very close, we talk to each other, yes we did go out to eat in Rotterdam but as friends, just like you would go out for dinner with friends”.

“She’s busy with various projects that she needs dancers and choreographers for, and that is what we discuss. I even showed her a video of my choreography of this show (MJ tribute, vrienden van Amstel live) and asked her opinion, I also showed her a video of Waylon (Dutch artist). How I speak to her, is how I speak to you now, she just became a really good friend of mine”

Queen Bey is going to the Grammys. Beyoncé will reportedly perform at the 56th annual ceremony later this month.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the 17-time Grammy winner will take the stage at L.A.’s Staples Center for her first televised performance in support of her self-titled album. Since its surprise release in December, the project has sold 1.5 million copies in the U.S.

Grammy Awards show producer Ken Ehrlich would not confirm Bey’s performance, but did not deny it. “Let’s put it this way … We have a really great history that goes back to the early days of Destiny’s Child,” said Ehrlich. “I love working with [Beyoncé]. She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying, ‘wow.’”

He added, “Should she be on the show this year? I would think that the potential is there for that kind of moment.”

The 32-year-old singer and her husband Jay Z are nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Part II (On the Run)” at this year’s show. She last performed “If I Were a Boy” and “You Oughta Know” during the 2010 telecast.

In addition to Bey, Madonna is expected to appear during a performance from one of this year’s nominees.

Other performers include Kendrick Lamar, John Legend, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Lorde, Metallica, Katy Perry, P!nk, Robin Thicke, and more.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday, January 26, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.

Beyonce, Madonna expected to perform at Grammys

Madonna and Beyonce appear to have their eyes locked on the Grammy stage.

The pop superstars are expected to be among the big surprise moments during next week’s ceremony, according to two sources with knowledge of the plans.
Late last year Beyonce pulled off one of the best-kept secrets in recent music history when she stealthily released her self-titled album without as much as a hint.

The Grammys is where she will make her first televised performance in support of the project — which shattered iTunes records upon its release in December — according to a source with knowledge of the matter.
Madonna, however, is expected to pop up and lend guest vocals during a performance from one of the night’s nominees, an additional source confirmed.

Longtime Grammy Awards show producer Ken Ehrlich said he “can’t confirm” an appearance from Beyonce during an interview with Pop & Hiss to preview the show. Ehrlich didn’t confirm or deny Madonna’s involvement.

“Let’s put it this way … we have a really great history that goes back to the early days of Destiny’s Child,” Ehrlich added. “I love working with [Beyonce]. She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying, ‘wow.’ ”

“Should she be on the show this year?” he continued. “I would think that the potential is there for that kind of moment.”

Other Grammy performers include Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr; Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder; Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons; Lorde; Katy Perry; Pink and Fun’s Nate Ruess; Robin Thicke and Chicago; Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; Kacey Musgraves; John Legend; Taylor Swift; Keith Urban and Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton.
Reps for Madonna and Beyonce had yet to return requests for comment.

The Grammy telecast airs at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time Jan. 26.,0,515371.story#ixzz2qh70vZp1

Madonna on crutches after high heel injury

Madonna has been spotted hobbling in pain, on crutches, into her Upper East Side townhouse after a trip to the posh ski resort of Gstaad.

Madge took a nasty fall on the slopes before she celebrated New Year’s at the glam villa of Valentino, along with her new boy toy Timor Steffens.

She and Steffens partied aboard a yacht in his hometown of Rotterdam last week.

Her rep told us, “She bruised a bone in her foot from dancing in her high heels . . . she’ll be fine and off crutches in a week.”

Watch: Madonna’s Star-Making “American Bandstand” Performance Turns 30

Not that I’m a certified Madonna expert or anything, but I think it’s fair to say that when that 25-year-old Danceteria dolly Madonna appeared on American Bandstand for the first time on January 14, 1983, the world was not prepared for the level of chutzpah, obnoxiousness, fun, intelligence, dance credibility, and sexuality she’d be serving. Even if she was just lip-syncing “Holiday” while thrusting around in fishnets and three colors of eye shadow, she was bolder than any disco artist who preceded her. She didn’t care if you liked her, but she hated if you didn’t notice her.

And she still reigns now, seeing as she was 2013′s top earning musician. When Dick Clark interviews her after her performance and she impishly squeaks that she wants to rule the world, it’s hard not to think she had it planned all along. Watch and take a mini-holiday back to the roots of girly materialism. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Celebrate!

Madonna Gives $1 Million to Her Scandal Plagued Charity

Madonna will not give up on the folly of her involvement with the small African country of Malawi– or her passion for the cult like Kabbalah Center organization. According to the just filed Form 990 for her Ray of Light Foundation, Madonna transferred over $1 million in tax free money to Raising Malawi, the scandal plagued charity she started with Kabbalah to make in roads in Malawi.

The Ray of Light filing is interesting for a couple of reasons. In 2011, Madonna gave $750,000 to Kabbalah directly, and nothing to Raising Malawi. This time she gives nothing to Kabbalah, but the million dollars to Raising Malawi.

The organization has come under tons of criticism and has lost of millions of dollars, never fulfilling its promise to build a leadership academy in Malawi for young women a la Oprah’s school in South Africa. Two years ago several investigations were launched into Raising Malawi for financial improprieties. In 2012, Raising Malawi did help another organization, called BuildOn, construct classrooms in Malawi.

The only other donations from Ray of Light were a meager $15,000 to the TJ Martell Foundation, which funds cancer research, and pocket change– $5,000 to the Jewish Boys and Girls Club in Los Angeles. She also gave $5,000 to Ionia Inc, a rural recovery center in Arkansas that specializes in microbiotic cooking.

Madonna was named the top earning celebrity last year by Forbes.

Sean Penn Talks Madonna in Haiti

It didn’t take much for Sean Penn to get his ex-wife to Haiti.

“I don’t know if I called her or if it was one time that we ran into each other but, I said, ‘Would you like to come down?'” the Milk actor told me at his J/P Haiti Relief Organization benefit. “She said she would. She came down with her son Rocco and it was great to have them down there.” The Queen of Pop made the trip to the Caribbean country in November. While the Haiti earthquake may have happened four years ago, Penn says there’s no time to stop working to rebuild the country.

“The value of what was done in the first place ends up at zero if we don’t continue and finish the support aspect of it that allows Haiti to be independent,” he said. “We’re moving there.”

Media coverage of Madonna and other celeb visits helps the world see “the enormous amount of change that’s happened in Haiti,” Penn said.
Anderson Cooper, who emceed the star-studded event, said, “I’ve seen the work that Sean and J/P HRO does in Haiti and it’s remarkable. I don’t think anyone could have predicted when Sean showed up just days after the earthquake with a plane full of supplies that four years later that he would be on the ground when so many others aren’t.”

The night raised $6 million for the organization. Cooper won a Jeff Koons sculpture made from Penn’s decommissioned gun collection during the live auction for $1.4 million.

Video Submitted By Local Woman Wins $10,000 For Area Non-Profits

Local organizations that help people suffering from neuromuscular diseases will benefit from a video posted by a Rochester area woman. A foundation run by Madonna is granting the money after they reviewed a one minute video.

The video was posted by someone in the WXXI family. It’s Joy Parker, our web coordinator, who was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease in April of 2010, when she was just 39 years old. Parker submitted the video to Madonna’s Art for Freedom project, which promotes art and free speech.

A spokesperson with Madonna’s Ray of Light Foundation says Parker’s video was picked among all of the others submitted in December. In the video, Joy had a simple, yet powerful explanation for what freedom means to her.

“Freedom is still being alive so I can take care of my daughter, freedom is still being able to express myself.”

As a result of being selected by the foundation, $10,000 goes to a nonprofit organization of Joy’s choosing, and in this case, it will be shared by the Greater Rochester Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Upstate ALS chapter.

Sally Cramer is Director of Business Development for the local MDA. She has known Joy ever since she was diagnosed, and has always been impressed by her spirit.

“Even though she’s affected every day of our life, not just Joy, but her entire family, but she still has that, ‘I’m going to get out there and make a difference.”

Joy Parker continues to work from home, and as she said in the video, ‘freedom means everything .’
