Even Madonna Wants a Pair of Post Malone’s Sold-Out Crocs

Ask and you shall receive. Well, that’s certainly the case for Madonna.

On Tuesday, Crocs launched special-edition clogs made in collaboration with Post Malone, and the shoes sold out in just 10 minutes. That didn’t deter the Queen of Pop.

After Posty Instagrammed himself in the shoes saying they were already sold out, Madonna commented on the photo with: “Omg I love those. How can I get some??” Crocs immediately responded, telling the singer to direct message them. So if all is right in the world, Madonna should be receiving Post Malone’s Dimitri clogs.

If you’re not Madonna, chances are, you missed out on the launch. However, the company did say a follow-up style is on the way, but the date is still under wraps.

With Posty’s loyal 13.9 million followers on Instagram, it doesn’t come as a shock that the collab clogs have already sold out.

The $60 shoes reimagined the label’s classic silhouette by adding a baby devil motif and six custom-designed Jibbitz charms, including re-creations of Post Malone’s “Stay Away” tattoo and his Posty Co™ logo.Said Crocs chief marketing officer Terence Reilly, “Amidst his record-setting year, when Post tweeted ‘U can tell a lot about a man by the Jibbitz in his Crocs,’ that really got our attention. Post Malone is a beloved creator and represents what it means to be comfortable in your own shoes, so collaborating on product design is special. We’re thrilled with how the Post Malone x Crocs Dimitri Clog turned out, and [we are] excited about what’s to come. Stay tuned.”

Madonna pledges up to $100,000 for Detroit Prep charter school

In 2014, Madonna made international headlines by turning her attention back to Detroit and the roots she once left behind as she headed off for fame.

Four years later, the Michigan-born pop superstar still seems committed to the cause: Madonna is announcing a $100,000 matching-grant challenge for the Detroit Prep charter school as it seeks to move into an abandoned public school building on the city’s east side. The progressive elementary school is now housed in a church basement in Indian Village and is quickly outgrowing the space.

Madonna is asking fans and others to contribute to the campaign, and she’ll match their collective donations up to $100,000 through her Ray of Light Foundation.

“Detroit has such a special place in my heart,” Madonna wrote in a statement. “Kids in Detroit deserve access to great schools and I am happy to do my part to give them one!”

Detroit Prep, founded in 2016, is a sister school of Detroit Achievement Academy (DAA), one of the organizations Madonna visited and chose to financially support during a philanthropic tour of the city in summer 2014. At the time, Madonna funded art supplies for the charter school, while also contributing to the Empowerment Plan and Downtown Youth Boxing Gym.

She has continued to back DAA, including funding for that school’s permanent site on West Outer Drive. She also gave teachers 50 front-row tickets to her Joe Louis Arena show in 2015.

Detroit Prep serves students from kindergarten to third grade, with plans to expand to eighth grade. Like DAA, the school follows the Expeditionary Learning model, which emphasizes principles such as self-discovery, collaboration and diversity.

Detroit Prep, co-founded by DAA’s Kyle Smitley, purchased the abandoned Joyce Elementary School this summer. It has launched a $2 million capital campaign to rehabilitate the three-story, 44,000-square-foot facility, which has sat unused for about a decade.

“The idea of transforming an old, abandoned building in Detroit and making it the home of an excellent school is so exciting,” Madonna said. “Detroit is a community that comes together, especially for our young people.”

During her 2014 trip to DAA, Madonna chatted with students about books and danced with kindergartners, who later described her as “Michael Jackson’s friend” after seeing a picture of the stars together.

“It was one of the most memorable tours I’ve ever given, and that had little to do with the fact that it was Madonna,” said Smitley. “She was just extraordinary and kind and fun with our students in a way we don’t often see.”

Smitley said she was particularly impressed by Madonna’s continued interest in the school, including the donated concert tickets more than a year later.

“She could have easily given the money then forgotten we existed,” Smitley said. “It showed how generous she is. She’s excited when she sees people who work hard to improve the city.”

Raised in Rochester Hills, Madonna dropped out of the University of Michigan in 1978 and headed to New York as an aspiring professional dancer. Within seven years she was one of the globe’s biggest pop stars.

Her daughter, Lourdes Leon, enrolled at U-M’s theater school in 2014.

“Many people doubt that Detroit can come back and think that the challenges are too overwhelming to overcome,” Madonna said in a statement to the Free Press after her 2014 visit. “But what I witnessed is the true story of Detroit — a city of innovation, commitment, perseverance, imagination and opportunity.”

On the music front, Madonna is gearing up for the expected 2019 release of her 14th album, the follow-up to 2015’s “Rebel Heart.”

Detroit Prep’s fund-raising campaign includes financial partners IFF, Capital Impact Partners and Chase. Detroit architectural firm Gensler and Oak Park contractor PCI One Source are overseeing the building renovation.

Ariana Grande Asked Madonna to Collaborate Via Text

pparently, when pop stars want to collaborate on a show-stopping new track, they hammer out all the details the exact same way the rest of us organize brunch plans. In her upcoming BBC special, Ariana Grande tells host Davina McCall that she secured Madonna‘s booming voice for her “God Is a Woman” video within minutes, via her iPhone. “I texted her, which is so cool. I can text Madonna!” Grande told McCall, according to People, when asked how the collaboration came together. “Within a couple of minutes she replied. She was like ‘Send me everything!'”

This shockingly casual exchange, of course, begs a mountain of questions, like how, exactly, Grande came to have Madonna’s number in her phone, whether Madge prefers utilizing the GIF keyboard or regular old emojis to add emphasis to her missives, and what the pop icons have texted about since. Here’s hoping all these and more will be answered when the full BBC special—which also reportedly includes Grande performing songs from her new album Sweetener backed by an all-female orchestra—airs on November 1.

The “God Is a Woman” cameo in question has Madonna reciting a slightly altered version of the Bible verse famously quoted by Samuel L. Jackson’s character in Pulp Fiction. “I will strike down upon thee, with great vengeance and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my sisters, and you will know my name is the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon you,” she says as Grande, wielding an oversized gavel and sporting a cat-eared helmet, lip-syncs along.

Madonna not to perform at Glastonbury?

Glastonbury fans have been speculating for months as to which bands will be headlining the festival in 2019. From the likes of Madonna, Elton John and the Arctic Monkeys – almost every iconic act has been rumoured to be taking on the Pyramid Stage, yet the three headliners are yet to be confirmed. According to a number of tweets, co-organiser Emily Eavis has reportedly claimed that three huge rumoured names have actually not been booked.

During a talk in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice, it is said that the 39-year-old claimed Madonna, Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac have not been booked for the event. Even though reps for the festival are yet to confirm or deny these claims, it appears that fans shouldn’t be getting their hopes up for these acts to make an appearance. There have been a number of names thrown around about the potential line up next year. Even Liam Gallagher got on board with the speculation as he teased fans he was on the bill for the festival. Having headlined the festival as part of Oasis twice (back in ’95 and 2004) he’s got the guts to pull of a top billing at the world’s most iconic musical pligrimage. The 45-year-old hinted that he was in talks for something Glasto related when he revealed he’d enjoyed a meeting with founder Michael Eavis. Keeping things suitably cryptic he told them he’d see them ‘both next year.’ ‘Big thanx to the ever delightful Michael and Emily eavis for last night see you both nxt year as you were LG x,’ he tweeted out.

Bradley Cooper has since praised the festival after revealing he spent four days there in 2017 filming for his new film A Star Is Born. Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival, he said: ‘I spent four days there in all and learned so much about its inner workings. ‘It’s the largest privately-owned music festival in the world and it is the place that makes and rejuvenates careers.’ He added: ‘You watch major, huge musicians still get nervous about playing on the Pyramid Stage. ‘It’s still this place of fear and beauty.’

Bubbly! Madonna & Cardi B Hop On Quavo’s “Champagne Rosé”

Madonna is hard at work crafting a new studio album. However, the Queen of Pop isn’t leaving us high and dry while we patiently await her glorious return. Instead, she has decided to grace us with an unexpected collaboration. Late last night (October 11), the “Hold Tight” siren hopped on a track for Quavo’s debut solo album, QUAVO HUNCHO. The LP gives the Migos rapper an opportunity to flex his creativity in new ways. And it also boasts a star-studded group of collaborators including the likes of DrakeNormani and Cardi B. Unsurprisingly, Madge’s contribution is an absolute highlight.

The living legend and Cardi lend their voices to “Champagne Rosé,” and they undeniably steal the show. “Drink me up, Champagne Rosé. It’s my game,” Madonna chants over frosty beats on the catchy-as-all-hell chorus. She takes center stage on a verse as well “It’s my game. Please let me entertain you. Get inside your vein, too. Intoxicate your brain,” she coos. It is definitely an unexpected moment from the icon. However, it worms its way in your head. Meanwhile Cardi’s verse is all sorts of shady.

“They say my time is ticking. These hoes is optimistic. Somebody told you not to fuck with me. I would listen,” the “I Like It” rapper cryptically warns. “I don’t do number two. That’s the type of shit I’m on,” she adds. Many are taking this as a dig at Nicki Minaj who debuted at the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 earlier this year. The pair have some serious beef that recently culminated in a near-fight during New York Fashion Week, and this is going to escalate things.

It may not be “Beautiful Game,” but I can’t help being obsessed with Madonna’s latest experiment. Give the LP a spin here and press play on Madonna’s catchy contribution below.
