Lady Gaga and Pink are not writing an “anti-Madonna anthem” together, despite a bogus new report claiming the singers are teaming against their legendary predecessor. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.
According to OK!, Pink is supporting Gaga in her feud against Madonna, who once called the singer’s music “reductive” and accused her of ripping off one of her songs. “Pink feels sorry for Gaga and is taking her side in her Madonna feud,” a so-called “source” tells the magazine. “She thinks Gaga’s been treated rotten and is really talented and vulnerable right now.”
The outlet’s questionable insider adds, “Pink’s a tough girl and she doesn’t like the way Madonna’s been trashing her friend all over town, saying that Gaga’s music is a bad rip-off of hers.” The supposed source further contends that Gaga and Pink are currently “writing lyrics that target Madonna as superficial and a fraud.” But Gossip Cop checked in with multiple sources close to the situation, none of whom had heard anything about Gaga and Pink teaming up on new music. A rep for Gaga also confirms that the tabloid’s tale is “not true.”
It’s possible this article was concocted simply because Pink defended the fellow singer earlier this year. After Gaga was accused of stealing Pink’s moves by performing a high-wire acrobatic stunt during the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, Pink wrote on Instagram, “Let’s celebrate a woman who has the guts to jump off a roof and stand up there in the first place. Who cares if I flew first? Cause I didn’t! Cirque and Peter Pan been in the air for years!” Pink clearly admires the pop star, but that doesn’t mean she’s collaborating with her on a Madonna diss track.
This also isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has had to debunk a phony article surrounding the tension between the two singers. We recently busted OK!’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for making up a ridiculous story about Madonna challenging Gaga to a boxing match in Las Vegas. This latest report is similarly false.
